Today Cole got his shots for Kindergarten. He doesn’t remember ever getting shots before, and so it was kind of a big deal. He was very brave until the time that the nurse came in with the needles and then all hell broke loose. One thing overheard:
I don’t want a milk shake, I don’t want a milk shake.
We talked about it later. I said we have had our Kindergarten shots — this was an important step in his growing up. He asked if everyone in the world gets Kindergarten shots and I said, no, not everyone is fortunate enough to get them. He didn’t buy that, but told me:
Mom had even more shots when she was little. She came from a more diseasable place.
Sneezles and diseasables and heffalumps. Oh my.
