Lena celebrated her 3rd birthday recently and she had her own little celebration at her preschool.  Since she attends a Montessori, she got to do a walk around the ‘sun’ candle 3 times to symbolize the number of times she has gone around the sun!  She starts on the October month and when she does a full revolution, she stops, at which point, Tew, her teacher,  and I would share some of our favorite Lena memories.  Lena’s contribution was “When i turned 3 i learned to brush my teeth and rinse and spit!” which she seemed very excited about (and so, for that matter, am I).

Here she is starting on October!  I have to admit i got quite sentimental.

After this rather long process which was a little much for the other squirmy 3 year olds, we got to the icing on the cake, literally.  Lena chose to sit next to her ‘best friend’ Emmanuel (the little strawberry blonde boy), and handed out scones to her classmates.  We all sang happy birthday and mom snapped a few shots.  Way to go, Lu!
