On Christmas Eve, Cole and i talked a little about Santa. I mentioned that at that very moment, Santa was somewhere in the world delivering presents to little boys and girls who were (asleep) in their beds. Cole mentioned that Santa must know everyone in the world. I took it upon myself to inform him that most people in the world don’t believe in Santa and observe other holidays. Cole gave me a look like these people had obviously been living under a rock, and our conversation went thus:
C: Well, surely they must KNOW about Santa?
Me: Of course they’ve heard of Santa, but they choose not to believe that he’s real for their own reasons.
C (sitting up straight and stating quite emphatically): Well, I KNOW he’s real. First of all, I’ve SEEN him (a trip to the mall a year back). And SECOND of all, when i wake up on Christmas morning, there’s a present UNDER the tree and it SAYS ‘From Santa to Cole’. So there DEFINITELY is a Santa. I KNOW there is.
Can’t argue with the boy. 🙂
