This is an old photograph – from 2010 but I never posted it and I just think it’s kind of cute. It’s from Lena’s first and only horse lesson. I had signed her up for a lesson on a pony but after a 45 minute drive to the other side of Walnut Creek to get to the stables, it turned out there was a mix up and the pony was not available. Lena was crestfallen that she couldn’t ride the pony.  The owner felt bad and so, with a bit of misgiving on my part, they put Lena up on their oldest mare and walked her around the corral.  She did great!
