Before Christmas 2013, my friend John Powers asked if I wanted an unopened set of model rockets, a starter kit, and some engines.  Of course, I said yes — I have always wanted to do this with my kids, and this was the perfect opportunity.  We were heading down to Merced to see some family, so we brought the whole collection with us.  We built and launched them.
