Last year, a doe appeared with her two very young fawns on the hillside below our house. The fawns were left to rest in a berm while the mother went to feed. The family came back regularly to our hillside for several days before moving on and we delighted in observing the fawns. We were able to take lots of photos and posted them on our blog. A couple of months ago, the deer, and her now grown up fawns, returned to the same spot. The grass had yet to be cut down for fire prevention so there was some food to be found, but after a little while, they moved on. They are a bit hard to spot in this photo, they blend in so well with the brown of the hillside.
