I finally got the kids into watching Yellow Submarine with me.  Cole thought it might be too scary, and you know, it turns out he was right.  I fast-forwarded through the loud battle scenes (for what they are).

 

Every few minutes, Lena asked

Is this the end?

Cole kept asking

How are they going to get to Pepperland?

and then, when I wouldn’t answer in enough detail

You won’t tell me anything.

and

They’ll never be able to save Pepperland.

At the very end (when the Beatles come on live), Cole quickly announced

They look better animated.

Later in that night I was reading stories (and trying to get Lena to come to bed) and she turned to me and said

Dad, it isn’t true that anything is real.

Has she been sneaking into my Beatles collection?
